The BDL Choreography Intensive is an exciting new program designed to give aspiring Musical Theatre choreographers (ages 18-29), unparalleled access to training from Broadway professionals. Participants will study and create choreography in various styles, attend a Broadway show, engage in artist talkbacks, receive backstage tours and more!
Enrollment is limited, allowing for individualized training and feedback. The Intensive will culminate with a private studio showing of the work created during the week. All classes will take place the heart of downtown Manhattan. Total cost for enrollment is $1500. Food and housing are not provided.
Classes may include:
-Principles of choreographic technique
-Using dance to tell a story
-Interpreting scores/Collaborating with a musical directors
-Master classes in original Broadway choreography
-How to talk to your costume designer
-Lighting for dance
-Attend a Broadway show with a backstage tour
-Private tour of Jerome Robbins Dance Division archives at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts
